Mosaic art made for indoors is generally made on a substrate of plywood. Since it is protected from moisture and the elements, I usually don’t use a sealer. A wipe of a damp cloth can effectively remove dust.
Occasionally, accidents and “dings” occur, where a small chunk of grout or tile can become loose, and/or fall off. Repairing and restoring a mosaic to it’s former glory is simple and quick, so don’t worry!
